ONE MORE MUGGY NIGHT!

We remain in the warm sector ahead of a cold front, meaning the warm, southerly flow continues across the region.  This also keeps the humidity around too, so the air will continue to feel uncomfortable.  Overnight will be mainly dry, with partly to mostly cloudy skies.  Patchy fog is expected to develop once again.  Lows temperatures fall into the middle to upper 60s.

MUCH NEEDED SOAKING

Monday the cold front crosses the region, bringing a much needed rainfall to the Lower Susquehanna River Valley.  A few showers are possible Monday morning, with steadier rain entering our western parts by late morning.  The fog is expected to hang tough for a good chunk of the morning too.  The line of showers associated with the cold front continues to push east across the region into the afternoon hours, with some rumbles of thunder possible too.  Some thunderstorms are likely as well, and it’s possible some storms could be on the stronger side, producing gusty winds.  Otherwise, we’re looking at plenty of rainfall, with amounts of a half of an inch up to an inch likely for many!  It’s also a very breezy day!  How high temperatures rise are dependent on the arrival of the rainfall, but will be in the 70s.  The humidity drops once the front clears the region during the mid to late afternoon hours.

BACK TO AVERAGE

The cold front and its precipitation should clear the region before daybreak on Tuesday.  Behind the front, cooler and more seasonable air rushes our way.  High temperatures are in the upper 60s.  Chilly nights return after that, and temperatures stay seasonable through the rest of the week under plenty of sunshine.  Highs are in the upper 60s again on Wednesday, and rise to near 70 degrees through the rest of the week.  Models are indicating the development of a system just out to sea that could creep inland and bring some showers into the weekend.  There isn’t much agreement on the path it could take, when it will be unsettled, or how much rainfall, if any.  We’ll monitor the situation as it develops!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
