A Dauphin County man, Adam Homer pleads guilty to third degree murder in the shooting death of Michael Snyder and aggravated assault of his brother, Allan Snyder. It happened at about 12:30 am on May 31, 2012.
Allan Snyder saw Homer sneaking around his brother’s camper in Lower Swatara Township. When he saw Homer at the door of the camper, Snyder came out and told Homer to get away from the camper. He warned Homer that if he didn’t leave he was going to shoot him. Snyder then fired a warning shot into the air.
Hearing the commotion outside his camper, Michael Snyder came out and confronted Homer. Homer then shot Michael Snyder in the chest killing him. Homer then exchanged gunfire with Allan Snyder. During the gunfight, Allan Snyder was seriously wounded.
Homer plead under a plea agreement that carries a 20 to 40 year prison sentence.
