People who use state welfare EBT/ACCESS cards are being denied the monetary help today. The problem is not only affecting Pennsylvanians, it’s a nationwide issue.
“Xerox had a power outage at a data center in Texas late morning today. All systems are up but they are not connecting to the databases causing continued transaction processing issues. Xerox has an emergency team working to resolve the issue. It is impacting programs all across the country,” says Carey Miller, Director of Communications with the PA Department of Public Welfare.
Across our area, people went shopping and planned to pay with their EBT cards, but were unable to access the money. Many stores like Wal-Mart, Amelia’s Grocery Outlet and Turkey Hill posted signs in their windows to let customers know about the inconvenience.
There is no word when the problem will be resolved and the cards will be functional again.
