Record rainfall across much of Central PA in the past 2 days. Some parts of our area saw more than 10 inches of rain.
The damage caused by the record rainfall is still being felt. People in Lebanon County were forced out of their homes because of massive sinkholes that opened up in Palmyra.
Several of the sinkholes opened up, closing streets in the borough including East Cherry Street between Franklin and Grant Streets. One of the sinkholes even opened up between two homes.
Crews estimate the holes are as deep as 6 feet and about 5 feet wide.
At least 6 homes have been condemned and displacing more than a dozen people.
The Red Cross is helping those forced from their homes.
No word tonight on when those families can return home.
