A suspected counterfeit ring pass fake $100 bills at Walmart and Target in Cumberland County. Police say the ring comprised of men and women passed the counterfeit $100 bills at the Walmart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township on Monday, October 14.
The same group passed counterfeit $100 bills at the Target, also in the 6400 block of Carlisle Pike over a two day period, Sunday and Monday. Investigators say the suspects would buy items with the phony money and then return the items for real money. They would also buy gift cards with the counterfeit bills.
Police are attempting to identify six individuals caught on surveillance video from the stores. They were last seen driving away in a light colored sedan also caught on a surveillance camera.
