State Police and the Dauphin County Coroner are investigating two deaths at a Dauphin County motel.
State Police Trooper Robert Hicks says two people, a man and a woman, were found dead of gunshot wounds in a room the Cottage Inn and Self Storage on the 10000 block of Allentown Boulevard Tuesday morning.
Hicks also says there was an infant found in the room. The baby girl is unharmed and in the care of protective custody.
Police were called to the scene just before 7:45 a.m.
Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick said the victims were in their 20s and Hispanic. Police declined to identify them until their families could be notified.
Friends say the couple had been living at the Cottage Inn for about a year.
Police declined to say if they believed one of the two people found dead was the gunman. When asked if police were searching for a shooter, Trooper Hicks said, “At this point in time, with the evidence we have, we’re not currently looking outside the area.”
The coroner planned to release more information Wednesday morning.
