Police make two arrests in a pair of convenience store robberies in Lancaster County. One of the suspects, 26 year old Laura Sousa, of Warwick Township, had disguised herself as a male in the robberies. Also arrested, her co-conspirator and getaway vehicle driver, 28 year old James O’Reilly, of Penn Township.
The first robbery happened at about 7:45 pm Tuesday, October 15 at the Hess Express along the 3100 block of Oregon Pike in Manheim Township. The robber described as a short, stocky, unshaven white male between 25 and 30 years old and armed with a handgun walked in to the store and demanded cash and lottery tickets.
The second robbery happened shortly after 10 o’clock Thursday night at the Turkey Hill along the 3500 block of Rothsville Road in Ephrata Township. A short stocky built white female disguised as a man walked in and demanded case and instant lottery tickets. The suspect motioned that she had a gun. No one was injured in either robbery.
Ephrata Police and Manheim Township Police collaborated to identify and arrest Sousa and O’Reilly. They also recovered the weapon which turned out to be a pellet gun.
Following arraignment on Robbery, Conspiracy and Theft charges both suspects were sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail each
