Hundreds walk to fight breast cancer in Harrisburg

It was a sea of pink around City Island on Saturday as people laced up their shoes to help raise money for breast cancer research.  Teams, donned in pink, began their journey around 8:30 a.m.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is an annual event aimed at inspiring and uniting a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raises awareness about the disease and helps to save lives.

The event hopes to raise more than $800,000. The money goes to the American Cancer Society.
