COLD NIGHT AHEAD
High pressure in control of our weather and will keep skies clear overnight. Winds will become lighter and with dry air in place, will lead to a chilly night with lows dipping to the upper 30s to around 40 degrees. Don’t be surprised if you step out and the grass crunches below your feet. There could be some frosty spots.
MILD MONDAY
High pressure will transition off the coast allowing a warm front to push northward. Flow out of the south-southwest will allow temperatures under mostly sunny skies to reach the low to mid 60s. Clouds will stream in slowly late in the day. Winds will be breezy 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.
SHOWER CHANCES LOOK WEAK
Weather starts to go downhill as a strong cold front arrives very early Tuesday morning and a broad trough sets up over the area. Not a lot of moisture with the front but there is some colder air behind it. The coldest air of the season moves in for the rest of the week. There will be series of clipper type systems which will have limiting moisture but keep temperatures running below average. The next system, a pretty strong piece of energy, comes in Wednesday. This will bring widespread cloudiness and a shot for some showers. Some of the higher elevations may even see wet snow mix in. Most of the area will see plain cold rain. Highs will remain in the low 50s.
END OF THE WEEK OUTLOOK
Thursday and Friday the flow aloft will continue to pump in cooler than normal air. Sunshine will mix with clouds and right now it looks as if we miss out on any shower activity. Highs will remain in the upper 40s to the low to mid 50s while morning lows will run in the 30s.
High pressure looks to build in for the weekend bringing more sunshine and milder temperatures.
