Steamed, fried, grilled or in a stew, folks at this year’s Oyster Festival in York enjoyed the mollusk almost any way they could imagine.
The York County Heritage Trust hosted its 39th Annual Oyster Festival at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of foods, including oysters.
Last year, the crowd scarfed down more than 10,000 oysters and organizers believe they topped that amount at Sunday’s event.
“In the best years, we’ve averaged approximately 2,000 people. It’s an opportunity for people all over York county to eat good food, oysters, apple fritters, other types of food & we also have a lot of historic craftsman, who are on display so it’s a very family friendly event,” says Vernon Bracey, Chair of the Oyster Festival.
Folks also enjoyed live entertainment while they feasted the fest.
