One parent is taking on the football coaches at a Texas high school, alleging the staff bullied the losing team.
Friday’s game between Aledo High and Western Hills High turned into a blowout. Aledo beat Western Hills, winning 91 to zero.
But now a Western Hills parent is calling the win bullying, saying the coaches should have told their team to ease up.
A formal complaint has been filed against the entire coaching staff.
Coach Tim Buchanan says it was a big loss, but he would never tell his players not to play hard.
“I would never ask our kids not to play hard. I would never tell them go out and let them score. That’s not what you want to teach kids,” says Buchanan. “There was nothing unfair about it other than the fact that our players were better than their players.”
Aledo’s school superintendent says the district is following the same procedure it does with all bullying complaints but feels confident that the coaches acted appropriately.
