Police are looking for a person that struck a Spring Grove School bus that was carrying kids.

Southwestern Regional police said that a pickup truck hit the back of the bus while it was stopped at a railroad crossing. The incident happened on Old Hanover Road in Heidelberg Township at 7:00 Thursday morning.

Thirty-six high school and middle school students were on the bus at the time and many of the kids reported bumps and bruises from the incident. Police said that one student did receive medical attention for a non-life threatening injury.

Police say the driver of the pickup remained on the scene for a small period of time before telling the bus driver that she would return. She drove off and never returned to the scene.

Police say a description of the driver of the pickup is a female, between 40-50 years old, blond hair.

A description of the pickup truck is a brown, older model Chevrolet police say.

Police said the bus driver was able to get the truck’s license plate number and they believe they have a possible suspect, but that person has not yet come forward.

The collision was recorded by video surveillance on the bus, owned by Durham School Bus Services, and they said there was a substantial amount of impact from the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Southwestern Regional police at 717-225-1333.
