A man and woman are recovering from severe stab wounds at York Hospital, after they were attacked at home early Sunday morning. Police say the masked man who stabbed them was the woman’s husband.
Police say the victims, Ivy Tyler and William Wilson, are in stable condition. Ivy Tyler lived in the home on North Highland Avenue in West York.
The suspect, Garrell Tyler, was found dead in a car submerged in the Susquehanna River outside Columbia, Lancaster County eight hours after the attack. Police say the suspect ran away from the home after the attack.
Two weeks ago, Ivy Tyler was granted a Protection From Abuse order against her husband. Police say he assaulted her before.
“I feel really bad for the family and my heart goes out to them,” says neighbor Tom King. “We see them every day and it’s kind of crazy.”
Police say they believe Garrell Tyler acted alone. The Lancaster County Coroners Office is performing an autopsy on his body.
