Four people wanted for a violent home invasion and robbery were captured early Tuesday morning after their getaway car crashed in Columbia Borough.
Randy Helm II., 22, Stephen Myers, 34, Scott Reisinger, 34, and Elizabeth Andrews, 27, all of Columbia, face charges of burglary, attempted robbery, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy.
Shortly after 3 a.m. police were called to the 300 block of Walnut Street for a robbery in progress. As responding officers were making their way to the scene, they came upon an accident involving the suspects vehicle. All four were subsequently arrested.
Police say the suspects, wearing masks and armed with baseball bats, forced their way into the occupied residence. Everyone inside, except for two women, were able to get out.
Authorities say one of the women was sexually assaulted and the other suffered a broken arm after being hit with a baseball bat several times.
