A Carlisle man is charged with the stabbing death of his 85 year old mother. The victim was identified as Mary Tolbert. Her body was discovered at about 1:37 this afternoon at her apartment on the first block of Spring Road. Paul Tolbert, 54, was still at the scene when police arrived. Police say Tolbert’s girlfriend, Alison Green, 49, was also there. She was helping Tolbert cleanup the crime scene and to move the body.
Investigators say Tolbert stole money from his mother to purchase drugs.
Charges against Tolbert include Homicide, Robbery and Tampering with Evidence. Green is charged with Tampering with Evidence, Abuse of a Corpse, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
