Police say speed and alcohol are to blame for a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a man in York Township on Monday evening.
According to police reports, Jamey Ray Hartless, 48, of Glen Rock, was behind the wheel when he hit a car along the 2500 block of South George Street around 6:11 p.m. Witnesses told investigators that after hitting the car, Jamey sped away from the scene.
Minutes later, officers were called to the 200 block of Reynolds Mill Road for a crash with entrapment. Jamey’s car went off the road and hit a tree and stop sign, police said.
His brother, Timothy A. Hartless, 51, of Glen Rock, was killed in the crash.
