Children in Harrisburg are getting into the holiday spirit with the help of some Dauphin County police officers.  The officers taking a break from work on the streets to take 30 children in the Harrisburg Police Athletic League to do some holiday shopping. It was all part of the league’s third annual “Shop with a Cop” event. The organization focuses on fostering relationships between youth and law enforcement. Events like these become learning opportunities for the kids.

“ They teach us to say no to drugs, violence, alcohol, it’ll get you bad places,” says Leondra Tucker of Harrisburg
And these children are definitely listening.

“ They teach us don’t have Guns don’t sell drugs, you know advice to keep you off the streets,” says Quartay Brannon or Harrisburg

The kids were given money donated by Wal-Mart and Dauphin County to buy gifts for everyone in their family.
