A York City man faces multiple charges after threatening to plant bombs in the headquarters of the Northern York County Regional Police, the Springettsbury Township Police and the Pennsylvania State Police, Loganville barracks. Police increased security at each location.
The threats were left by a male caller in a York Newspaper Company voice mail. The caller also indicated that he was part of a new terrorist organization based on Iceland. Investigators were able to trace the phone number that the call was placed from. They determined that it belonged to Danny Lynn Wire, 59, with an address in the 200 block of East King Street, York. Yesterday, Wire was located at a scrap yard in York City. Police did not find any explosives to which Ware would had access.
Wire is charged by Northern York County Regional Police with Terroristic Threats, Threat to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction, Causing or Risking Catastrophe and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
Following arraignment, Wire was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail. Police say their investigation continues.
