An active duty soldier stationed in Maryland is charged in a weekend home invasion/robbery in York County.  It happened at about midnight at a home in the 100 block of Whiskey Springs Road in Franklin Township.  Two teenagers were watching television when they heard something outside of their home.

Four men, dressed completely in black clothing entered the home through the unlocked front door. The men were armed with guns and baseball bats.  The four suspects tied up the teenagers hands and feet with duct tape. Duct tape was also used to cover their eyes and mouths.

The four men then proceeded to steal rifles, other weapons and ammunition from the home.

Police say one of teens recognized the voice and eyes of one of the suspects as being someone who had been to his home two weeks ago for a party. During the party, the victim, showed the suspect, known as “Rico”, his fathers gun collection.

North York County Regional Police investigators were able to identify, “Rico” as Rico C. Holmes, III.  Holmes is on active duty in the Army, stationed at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland.

Acting on an arrest warrant obtained by NYCRPD, Naval Criminal Investigative Services and the United States Army Criminal Investigative Command took Holmes into custody Sunday evening at the military base.  He is being held by NCIS pending an extradition hearing.

Charges against Holmes include, Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Criminal Trespass and Unlawful Restraint of a Minor.

Police say their investigation continues and more arrests are expected in the case.
