Snow falling this Tuesday morning

…A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for our area until 4PM Tuesday as snow will result in treacherous travel conditions…

Updated map as of 8:30AM

QUICK SHOT AT SNOW:  The morning hours begin with snow showers greeting us.  The system today will be a quick mover, ending around 2PM for most.  Light snow will fall, with some moderate bursts and pockets at times.  This will reduce visibility and slick up some of the roads today.  As a rough guide, we’re expecting 1-3” to the north of the turnpike and 3-5” possible south.  The snow tapers fast and skies break as colder air slips on in for tonight.  Highs today hold near freezing with a breeze at times.  Tonight, we drop to the middle and lower teens.  Brrrr.

Based on current observations and trends, here’s a look at the updated snow total map.

FRIGID WEEK:  The rest of the week is snow free!  We’ll be unseasonably cold though.  Expect the next few mornings to start in the teens with highs in the middle and upper 30s.  Sunshine will be mixing with clouds too.

WEEKEND:  Saturday looks like another messy day.  We could see a mix of some sleet and freezing rain along with snow and rain.  This looks to fizzle out into Sunday, but be ready for another sloppy day.  We’ll watch it closely.  Highs over the weekend are in the 30s.

Have a terrific Tuesday!
