BLUSTERY & COLD TONIGHT

We are done with the snow for now.  In fact, it will be fairly quiet the next couple of days.  The weather focus will be the frigid temperatures. Tonight, under clear skies, temperatures will dive to the teens. Even with a little breeze it will feel like the single digits and that is what you need to dress for heading out early tomorrow morning.

AM Metrovision

COLD DAYS AHEAD

We’ll start out with plenty of sunshine but highs will struggle to warm through the upper 20s.  An Arctic boundary arrives tomorrow night reinforcing cold air across the state.   Clouds will increase in the afternoon and evening ahead of the system, there may even be a few flurries with it as it arrives late tomorrow night.

Temperatures the next several days remain well below normal.  Lows in the single digits and teens, highs won’t even get out of twenties. Skies should be mostly sunny.

3 Day

NEXT STORM

We’ll be watching the development of yet another storm that comes in Saturday. Right now snow looks to arrive in the morning hours and pick up during the day.  The question will be how much warm air moves in. Morning lows will start in the low to mid 20s and climb slowly to around 30. Question will be: When do they warm above freezing? As a coastal low develops, we could see warmer air moving in aloft while surface temps remain below freezing resulting in a period of sleet and freezing rain.  Precipitation type will be dependent on thermal profile so we’ll be keep you posted as we get more data the next few days.  Just be prepared for something because models do appear to agree on the next storm coming in over the weekend. It looks like it should wind down early Sunday morning leaving the rest of the weekend to clean up.  Highs Sunday may actually warm into the mid and upper 30s/

Once we get past the weekend, temperatures look to turn colder.

Bundle up!  It will be very cold the next few days.
