A jury convicts a Dauphin County man of selling the street drug known as “Molly”.  Joseph “Billy” Biggica, 29, of Grantville was found guilty last Tuesday of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

In August 2012, Biggica sold $100 worth of Molly to a confidential informant near his home. Molly or ecstasy are the street names for several ‘schedule I’ controlled substances that are typically formally referred to as MDMA or Methylone. Schedule I controlled substances have no medical benefit.

Biggica is scheduled for sentencing next month and faces up to five years in prison. Senior Deputy District Attorney Stephen R. Zawisky prosecuted the case and will be requesting that Biggica be given a state sentence.

Zawisky stated: “The non-traditional street drugs such as ecstasy/molly, wet or illy (cigarettes dipped in formaldehyde) and bath salts are an increasing problem. These drugs are cut (mixed) with all sorts of things and the user has no idea how much damage they are causing. Every time you use this junk, it’s like playing Russian roulette.”
