LIGHT SNOW TUESDAY MORNING
A weak, fast moving clipper system will dive down from the northwest tonight, bringing a light snowfall accumulation to the area. Because of this, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Berks, York, and Lancaster counties from 2 A.M. through 10 A.M. Tuesday. Clouds build this evening as the system draws nearer, but light snow showers won’t being until around midnight in our western parts, give or take an hour. The snow showers become a light falling snow through the overnight, lasting through the Tuesday morning commute. By late morning to noon, the snow ends from west to east. Light snow accumulations on the order of 1 to 3 inches are likely. An additional isolated inch is not out of the question for a few locations, especially to the north and northeast. Expect some slippery roads for the morning commute. The afternoon is dry, with highs are near the freezing mark or a bit above. A few additional snow showers could work in late in the day though the evening.
WARMING UP
Wednesday skies clear out, and temperatures begin an upward trend. Highs are still below average, with readings in the middle 30s. A southwesterly flow kicks in Thursday, and this warms temperatures closer to seasonable averages. Highs are near 40 degrees. Friday is still a seasonably mild day, with highs in the middle 40s. There is a chance for some showers as our next cold front approaches later in the day.
UNSETTLED WEEKEND
The cold front looks to hang across the region through weekend, keeping the shower chance alive. Temps remain above seasonable averages through Sunday. Bring the umbrella for any remaining holiday shopping adventures! Monday skies clear out, and temperatures begin to drop yet again!
