State Police say they have the man responsible for a home invasion and shooting in Franklintown Borough on December 8th. Rico Carty Holmes II, 23, of Bethesda, Maryland, is accused of breaking into an apartment on the 1st block of South Baltimore Street and assaulting a man while he slept. Holmes allegedly shot the 24 year-old victim multiple times during the attack, but the victim managed to escape. Another similar home invasion took place in Franklin Township 45-60 minutes prior to the Franklintown Borough incident. Working with Northern York Regional and Carroll Township Police, investigators identified Holmes as a suspect.

Holmes is currently in prison, charged with criminal attempt/ homicide, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. His bail is set at $500,000.
