A Cumberland County woman facing Endangering the Welfare of Children is headed to trail after waiving her preliminary hearing. Lacy Jane Baughman, 25, of North Middleton Township was arrested last month.

Domestic Relations officers alerted police after visiting Baughman’s home in the 1800 block of Spring Road discovered two children there alone who appeared dirty. Responding police officers found the house was in disarray with animal feces and urine on the floors. Two emaciated dogs were found in the basement covered in dog feces and urine.

North Middleton Police obtained a search warrant for the home and rescued the dogs. The dogs were handed over to a Humane Society officer. When Baughman returned home that evening, she was taken into custody.

Baughman remains free on bail.
