FOGGY NIGHT
With warmer, moister air coming in from the south-southwest, it is likely we will see areas of fog develop overnight. Temperatures will be milder, in the upper 30s to lower 40s, than the past few mornings and will be closer to our average high for this time of the year.
A frontal system sets up shop just to our west keeping us on the mild side of the system. Areas of low pressure ride through the Great lakes bring waves of showers. So with the milder temperatures comes rain. Saturday will be mainly cloudy with a chance for showers in the afternoon and evening, but I don’t expect it to be a washout by any means, so if you have shopping or running around to do, just keep the umbrella handy. Temperatures will not feel winter like in the low to mid 50s.
RECORD BREAKING HIGHS SUNDAY?
Sunday lows will start out very mild in the low to mid 50s and despite the clouds; the flow out of the west-southwest will boost our temps to the mid 60s or better. The record on Sunday is 64 and it looks like we could hit it. Rain amounts do not look impressive for us. The heaviest rain remains north and west of us.
The front may stall just to our east and there are some indications an area of low pressure develops in the southeast and rides the front up the coast. It is possible it could clip us with showers early Monday morning. Temperatures will be falling through the day from the 50s after midnight to the mid 40s in the afternoon.
CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY
Christmas Eve morning lows return to the 20s with highs struggling to warm through the 30s and it looks as if a strong piece of energy dives just to our south. It may trigger a few snowflakes but nothing more. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a white Christmas, you will have to wait. It will be cold with lows in the mid 20s and highs in the mid 30s; however, it will be dry with plenty of sunshine.
