Police say a Middletown woman stole checks from a Middletown man and racked up $730 in forgeries. Ericka Lee Pannebaker, 40, last known address of 8 Vagabond Court, Middletown, is charged with Forgery, Securing Execution of Documents by Deception, Theft and Access Device Fraud. Police say the checks, for different amounts drawn from the victim’s Citizen’s Bank account, were then deposited them into Pannebaker’s account at Members First Credit Union in Middletown via an ATM machine.

The victim in the case discovered that his bank account was overdrawn when he attempted to withdraw money from his account to pay for repairs to his furnace.

Middletown police worked with fraud investigators from Members First Credit Union. They were able to track the alleged fraudulent transactions and identify Pannebaker with the help of bank surveillance cameras.
