Thieves in Lancaster County stole from several cars across West Hempfield Township Wednesday night. The thieves didn’t just steal from cars, they stole from kids.
Rebecca Saylor kept her children’s Christmas presents in her car, away from wandering eyes. Thursday morning when she went to leave for work she discovered they were gone. West Hempfield Township Police say late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning the thieves broke into multiple cares along Keen Avenue and Stonehouse Lane. Rebecca says they didn’t take her GPS or stereo, just the gifts for her three children between the ages of 8 and 14.
“ We have a Christmas club account and what we save all year goes in there and that`s what we can afford. What goes in there is all we have, “ says Saylor
Her husband Brian Saylor is a volunteer firefighter who says like many, he and his wife work hard all year to prepare for Christmas.
“ To work so hard throughout the year to try and make the holidays the best I can for my family and kids to turn around and have this happen is heartbreaking,” says Brian Saylor
Now, he says they will make due with what they have.
“ Christmas will come like it does every year. We`ll make deal with what we have. I have family,I have friends, I have health, “ says Saylor
