TOPIC OF THE DAY: Christmas display featuring “Krampus” drawing complaints

It’s that time of year where many homes are decorated for the holiday season. But one California couple’s unique Christmas display is garnering criticism from some of its neighbors.

Stori Nagel of Murietta, CA put a doll of a mythical Christmas creature called “Krampus” on her home.

According to European folklore, Krampus is a mythical creature and assistant of Santa Claus that punishes children who’ve been naughty.

Nagel said she and her husband wanted to celebrate their partial German heritage and instill a bit of that culture in their three children.

Some area residents are concerned that the decoration associates evil with Christmas.

This is our topic of the day, so we want to know, could a display like this scare children? Or is it a fun and unique way to show holiday spirit?

Frankly, it's none of their business. If they object, they may ignore it. The 1st Amendment applies to everyone, not just those with whom we agree.
