One of only three living survivors of the Malmedy Massacre committed during World War II celebrated his 91st birthday Saturday in Lancaster County.

Harold Billows, of Mount Joy, is one of of only a handful of survivors that are still alive.

The Malmedy Massacre was a ware crime in which 80 American prisoners were killed by their German captors during WWII.

A group of motorcyclists rode to his home on Saturday to honor Billows on his birthday.

“It makes me feel great,” Billows said. “This is something that I’ll never forget. I’ll never forget this as long as I live.”

Billows, considered a local hero, has appeared on the History Channel to talk about his experiences.
