It was a very bright show of support Sunday in honor of a West Reading girl who touched the lives of so many before she passed away. The family of Delaney “Laney” Brown held a public viewing for the inspiring eight-year-old who succumbed to a rare form of Leukemia on Christmas morning. Mourners were asked to wear bright colors, especially pink, known by her friends and family for being a fashionista.
Lorraine Edris who attended the service said, “People don’t go back to living their lives as normal, that they may know that Delaney really helped tell us that we need to reach out to other people.”
Peter Raber who attended the service said, “It’s given me strength. Her father says take that strength from her and keep going forward. And I’m going to.”
Thousands of supporters took part in a holiday sing-a-long on December 21st outside of Laney’s home to fulfill one of her last wishes.
Laney’s family is asking all donations to go to the Four Diamonds Fund to help fight against childhood cancer. You can make a donation in Laney’s name to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, PO Box 852, Hershey Pa. 17033
