WATCHING FOR LIGHT SNOW

Some of the clouds from today continue to break up a bit this evening.  It’s a calm and quiet night across the region, with lows in the middle to upper 20s.  The storm system we’ve been watching for a few days now will approach from the west into Thursday.  Snow showers/light snow arrives out west during the mid to late afternoon hours and spreads east by evening.  The light snow continues through the evening.  Expect it to be heavy at times late evening into the early overnight.  It wraps up from west to east during the second half of the overnight.  Skies are dry by daybreak.  A coating to 4 inches of snow is expected.  See the map for specifics in your area.  As more model data comes in, some tweaks may need to be made, so check for updates!

BRIEF ARCTIC BLAST

Friday in the wake of the storm system, cold, arctic air plunges into the region.  Highs only reach the teens Friday.  Sunshine is expected across the region, but it doesn’t do a thing to help warm us much!  Overnight Friday, lows fall into the single digits!

NEXT SYSTEM

Highs rebound a little under some added sunshine Saturday, but are still well below seasonal average in the upper 20s.  Sunday the moderating trend continues as a southwesterly flow kicks in.  Highs reach the middle to upper 30s.  Clouds build ahead of our next weather maker, which looks to bring a mess on Monday.  Right now, it looks like a mainly rain mess.  We’ll keep an eye on developing trends.  Models want to bring down another round of frigid, arctic air Tuesday and Wednesday, so we could see high temperatures fall into the teens once again and lows in the single digits!

Have a great night!
