A Columbia Borough Police officer and the suspect in a fleeing car suffer injury in an early morning chase and collision. The officer attempted to the suspect’s car after he ran a red light at the intersection of 3rd and Locust Streets at about 1:18 am this morning. The police cruiser and the suspect car were heavily damaged in the crash.
The officer identified as Sergeant Marc Tremblay was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. The unidentified suspect also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect was involved in another investigation in a neighboring jurisdiction that borough police were not aware of at the time of the attempted stop. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the collision.
