Police in York are investigating a reported shooting incident. It started on the 200 block of Chestnut Street around 10:30am. There are no details at this time, but police have shut down the Chestnut at the intersection of North Queen Street. Witnesses tell FOX43 News a man with a handgun fired several shots and was walking on the street with the gun.

They say a woman was able to escape from the home on Chestnut Street to a friend’s house where she called 911. She told police her ex-boyfriend fired shots at her with a handgun. The man was holed up in a backroom of the home and refused to cooperate. After an hour-long standoff police were able to arrest him without further incident.
Police say charges are pending and they will release more information later today.
