Police are looking for the person who crashed into the York Branch of the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene along Chestnut Street at around 6:40 Thursday morning. The pastor of the church said it was a Mazda that barreled into the Childrens Ministries area. In spite of the damage, he says he was grateful that it happened when it did.
Pastor Kent Vandervort says, “I’m glad no one was hurt. I’m glad we didn’t have children in here. Not a Sunday during service time and buildings can be repaired, so can cars, but people can’t be.”>
Vandervort says it could take weeks before the room is back in use. The crash caused an estimated $15,000 in damage.
