…A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of our area from NOON today through 7AM Friday for accumulating snow…

WINTERWX

SNOW TODAY:  We’re quiet to start the day today with clouds and chilly air with temperatures in the upper 20s.  We warm to the low to middle 30s for highs and it looks to stay dry through midday into early afternoon.  A coastal low will be robbing energy and moisture from a dying low to our northwest, but not before several inches of snow fall out of it over our region.

>>>TIMING: Expect light snow to start between 2-6PM this afternoon, with intensity beginning to pick up later.  The snow will pick up intensity during the late evening from 6PM through midnight.  Snow continues before starting to taper around 3-4AM with it all finishing up and exiting our area by 6AM.

>>>AMOUNTS:  We’re still looking at a 2-6” range with the south and west seeing closer to 2-4” and the north and east in the 3-6” range.

SNOWTOTALS

FRIGID BLAST:  As the snow falls and tapers late Thursday night, the door to arctic air blasts open.  Temps will fall fast overnight into Friday morning.  We’ll be in the low teens with northwest winds at 15-25mph.  This will easily dump wind chill values to the single digits to near zero.  We don’t rebound much Friday.  Despite sunshine returning, temps will only make it to the middle to upper teens with wind chills still in negative and single digits.  Snow will eb blowing around as well. Stay warm.

TWC

WEEKEND:  We start cold and in the single digits with a diminishing wind for Saturday morning.  We’ll rebound nicely to near 30° with sunshine.  Clouds return Sunday with highs back to the upper 30s.  A storm system will bring rain late Sunday after dark, lingering into early Monday, ending as some snow.

MORE ARCTIC AIR: The arctic door busts open again.  Temps will fall through Monday as we return to the land of single digits and teens, with record lows in jeopardy for the middle part of next week.

Make it a tremendous Thursday!
