Two of America’s favorite pastimes, beer and bacon, combined for one unique event in Harrisburg Sunday.
The Federal Taphouse hosted its first annual Craft Beer and Bacon Bash. The event featured eight Pennsylvania Breweries including Liquid Hero from York and Troeg’s Brewery from Hershey.
Attendees enjoyed more than 100 microbrews on tap paired with bacon-themed delicacies such as maple glazed and apple wood smoked bacon.
Ryan Dagostino of Otto’s Pub and Brewery says, “It’s a good time for us, even our brewers, to get to know the people who drink our brew that we don’t see everyday. It’s really fun for everyone to get involved and have some food while they are at it.”
Matt Deprato of Liquid Hero Brewery says, ” You take everyone out of their usual element, behind the bar, behind the pub, and you just get to connect with them and talk about your beer, one-on-one and how it pairs well with food or how it pairs well with the day.”
All of the money raised at Sunday’s event will go to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
