Home invasion suspects arrested in Virginia

Two more suspects in a Franklintown Borough home invasion and shooting are in custody in Virginia. Police had previously charged Rico Carty Holmes II, 23, of Bethesda, Maryland, for breaking into a an apartment on the 1st block of South Baltimore Street on December 8th and assaulting a man while he slept. Holmes allegedly shot the 24 year-old victim multiple times during the attack, but the victim managed to escape. Another similar home invasion took place in Franklin Township 45-60 minutes prior to the Franklintown Borough incident. Working with Northern York Regional and Carroll Township Police, investigators identified Holmes as a suspect.

Holmes is currently in prison, charged with criminal attempt/ homicide, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. His bail is set at $500,000.

Pennsylvania State Police say they identified two more suspects as Holmes’ accomplices: Leonard Hayes, 19, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Joseph Henderson, 18, also of Alexandria.  Both men were arrested by Fairfax County Police. Both are charged with Criminal Conspiracy to commit Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Criminal Conspiracy to commit Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Simple Assault. Both are awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
