Mother pleads ‘no contest’ in the death of her 2-month-old son
Heather Almoney pleaded ‘no contest’ to involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday for the November 12,2011, death of her 2-month-old son.
York County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Almoney, 31, was sentenced to time served, 586 days, of her 5 year sentence and was released from prison yesterday.
Before the hearing the District Attorney’s Office withdrew a manslaughter charge against the infant’s father Eric Clapper, 34, because “he is incompetent to stand trial because of his intellectual disabilities.” That charge was the only charge Clapper faced.
The 2-month old child was born prematurely and died after being in the care of his parents for a month, investigators said.
According to Autopsy findings, the child suffered from dehydration and malnourishment.
