Teens compete at the Farm Show

Competition heated up at the farm show today, as teens came from across the state to show their animals.

There’s not too much that get teens up happily at the crack of dawn, but these are competitors, getting ready for the dairy goat showmanship competition.

These teens traveled from across the state. Elijah is with his classmates at the Milton Hershey School.

“They’ll teach you how to do things, even us as a school, we’ll help other kids out if they don’t have equipment,” says Elijah Shirk of the friendships at the show.

Once it’s showtime, they enter the ring. They’re competing for ribbons, and in some cases, money.
but these teens have already won something they’ll have forever.

“I would say I wouldn’t want as many as we have, because it’s hard, but I definitely love goats,” says Jacqueline Foulke of the Dauphin County 4-H Club. “So I’ll keep them around.”
