MIXED BAG OF PRECIP

WebPhoto1

Light snow and pockets of snow showers are moving across the region early this morning.  After a brief lull from the precipitation around 5 A.M. to 7 A.M., it picks up again mainly in the form of freezing rain.  Some snow could still mix in along the northern most parts of the region.  The freezing rain will be light to patchy across the region.  Ice accumulations range from a trace to a tenth of an inch, with the highest amounts along the southern half of our region.  Snowfall amounts still remain minor, with as much an inch in spots.  The northern half of the area has the best chance of accumulating up to an inch.  Locations closest to border see less than an inch to none at all.  As temperatures rise above freezing by noon, all changes over to rain showers.  By then most of the precipitation will be out of the area.  Highs reach the middle to upper 30s.

50/50 WEEKEND

Our best chance for a soaking rain comes along as a cold front that pushes through Saturday afternoon through the overnight.  We see some showers as early as Friday night, and occasional showers continue through Saturday morning.  Some steadier rain is expected by the afternoon.  Highs are quite mild, in the lower 50s!  Skies dry out overnight, and Sunday brings partly cloudy skies, with afternoon highs peaking in the middle 40s.

FAIRLY QUIET

Monday and Tuesday look rather uneventful right now, but they’ll be a bit on the milder side.  Partly cloudy skies are expected Monday, with highs in the lower to middle 40s.  Tuesday there is a chance for rain showers as our next system approaches.  Highs drop a little, hanging around the 40 degree mark.  Temperatures fall into the 30s Wednesday and Thursday, with increasing sunshine.

Have a great weekend!
