An investigation of a stolen car leads to multiple charges against a Steelton man.  It began in Cumberland County on December 30, when Upper Allen Township Police received a stolen car report. The car was allegedly stolen from a business in the 500 block of Independence Avenue while the victim was working. Police learned that Zachary James Jackson, had been working that day at the same business as the victim when he allegedly stole the car.

Jackson later crashed the car in Camp Hill. He ran away after taking some of the victims personal items from the car.  Jackson then contacted the victim and demanded access to the credit cards he stole from the car.

Investigators eventually obtained an arrest warrant for Jackson. He was arrested this morning without incident at a home in Steelton Borough.  Charges against Jackson include Theft by Unlawful Taking, Theft by Extortion, Theft from a Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of Automobiles, and Access Device Fraud. Following arraignment he was sent to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

At the time of his arrest, Jackson was out on bail for similar charges in Dauphin County.
