DENSE FOG WEDNESDAY

It’s a foggy start along the Lower Susquehanna River Valley this morning, with Dense Fog Advisories in effect through 12 P.M.  With temperatures below freezing in many spots, expect some areas of freezing fog too.  This can create some slick spots early on the roads.  Allow some extra travel time this morning to your destinations.  Otherwise, clouds return into the forecast through the morning hours as a weak system passes through.  It loses moisture as it crosses through, and this means just some flurries and sprinkles for our area.  Highs reach the upper 30s to lower 40s.

DRY TO UNSETTLED AGAIN

The sunshine returns Thursday morning, but our next system begins increasing clouds again late in the day into the evening hours.  Highs are in the middle 30s.  We stay dry through Friday, then the chance for some snow showers enters the picture, perhaps a few periods of light snow Friday evening.  Depending on the timing of the system, some flurries could linger into Saturday morning.

COLD AIR RETURNS

A cold shot of air works into the region through the weekend, cooling high temperatures Saturday.  Expect readings at or a little below freezing.  Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds.  Sunday is more or less the same.  A weak piece of energy dives into the area, but we should remain dry.  At best, some extra clouds may move in.  Weak pulses of energy continue to move through into early next week.  Monday’s should miss us to the north, meaning plenty of sunshine for us.  Tuesday, another piece of energy crosses our path, and it will likely bring some rain and snow showers.  Highs moderate into the upper 30s to lower 40s Monday and Tuesday.

Have a great Wednesday!
