Some spotty spotty rain and snow showers are likely this afternoon, but they are not very widespread.

A quick moving clipper system continues to approach the region, bringing with it some light snow.  Through the rest of the day, sunshine gives way to extra clouds during the afternoon hours.  Temperatures rise into the upper 30s to lower 40s across the region with southerly winds.  As the clipper gets closer, some spotty precipitation enters the picture.  With temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s, it’s a combination of spotty rain and snow showers.  As temperatures fall late in the day through the early evening, it becomes all snow showers everywhere.  The light snow showers last into the overnight, with some heavier periods likely for some.  Accumulations overall are minor through the night, ranging from a trace to an inch at best.  However, it is not out of the question for some spots to receive one to two inches.  For now, that looks few and far in-between.  Watch out for icy spots and slick areas on the roads and sidewalks if your travels or plans take you out and about through the night.
