An elderly couple died Sunday evening after their vehicle was struck by a backhoe in York County, police said.
It happened around 5 p.m. along Route 116 near Iron Ridge and Jacobs Mill Roads in Heidelberg Township.
Police say 86-year-old Roy Kline Jr. was headed west on Route 116 with his wife, 85-year-old Lorraine Kline, when they were struck by a large Caterpillar backhoe.
Both Kline and his wife died at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver of the backhoe was not injured.
