Pope names new Bishop of Harrisburg

Pope Francis has named his new bishop for the Diocese of Harrisburg.

Bishop Ronald Gainer, 66, will replace Bishop Joseph McFadden, as the eleventh bishop. McFadden died suddenly in May 2013.

Gainer is from Pottsville, and the former Bishop of Lexington, Kentucky.

Bishop Gainer will be introduced at a news conference at 10a.m. on Friday at the Cardinal Keeler Center in Harrisburg.

He will be installed as Bishop of Harrisburg on March 19.
