Gibble’s products returning to shelves

An exciting announcement was made Friday for an iconic Pennsylvania product: Gibble’s chips will soon be back on store shelves starting next month.

The snacks’ triumphant re-emergence was made possible by the Hartman Snack Group Inc., which purchased the popular snack food brand and Chambersburg facility for Gibble’s foods.

Robert and Amy Hartman, of the Hartman Snack Group Inc., announced Friday that all Gibble’s products will be manufactured in the same production plant as the original products.

“We want to keep the same superior quality products as people remember and expect. This is what sets Gibble’s apart from the competition,” said Amy Hartman in a statement.

“We’re pleased to say that the plant will start up with all former employees of Gibble’s who worked in the production facility previously,” said Hartman said in a news release. “They are very familiar with the products and the production process and will be making the same products with the same recipes and quality ingredients that made Gibble’s a household name.”

Gibble’s Homestyle Potato Chips, Original Cheese Flavored Cheese Puffys, White Cheddar Cheese Puffys, Old Fashion Thin Pretzels, and Minis Pretzels will be reintroduced in Mid-Atlantic region stores first.

Additional products, which include the Gibble’s Red Hot Potato Chips, Gibble’s Bar-B-Q Potato Chips and Kay and Ray’s Potato Chips will be relaunched at a later time, the company said.

The Hartmans presently own King’s Quality Foods Inc. and All Seasons Kitchen Inc. in Bowmansville, Pa.
