ANOTHER BLAST: Here we go again! Another arctic blast makes its way into the state today, lasting through mid-week. We begin on a less chilly note with a few flakes and flurries in spots under mostly cloudy skies. Temps will rise to the low and middle 30s by lunch, before the arctic front blasts through bringing a healthy chunk frigid air. Expect temps to fall through the afternoon and evening, landing near 0° overnight tonight. Strong northwesterly winds will slowly bring wind chills to the single digits and eventually negative teens overnight as skies clear out.
We keep the sub-freezing air for Tuesday with sunshine and highs in the middle teens. Overnight lows dip to the single digits again too. Wednesday, we’re in the upper teens with sun. By Thursday, we start arctic and end in the middle 20s as we begin to “warm” ahead of the next system.
WEEKEND: By Friday, we’re back into the low 30s for highs as another system sets up shop. We’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies later. Some snow may develop overnight, with a snow to rain mix chance for Saturday as highs top out in the upper 30s to start February. We stay seasonal for Sunday, Groundhog’s Day and Super Bowl Day, with highs in the mid to upper 30s. For now, we’re looking dry, but we’ll need to watch a system to our south.
