Police conducting a routine traffic stop ended up filing gun and drug charges on the couple they stopped. It happened last Friday, January 24th, around 6pm. York City Police pulled over a car with a faulty brake light in the area of Queen and Charles Streets. The officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle when they approached it. The passenger of the car, Brandon Samuel, had marijuana on him, according to police. The driver, Desiree McClain was driving on a suspended license.

The vehicle was impounded and police got a search warrant to inspect the vehicle further. They found a heap of drugs including 5.8 grams of marijuana, 1.6 grams of crack cocaine, 163 packets of heroin and packaging materials. They also confiscated a loaded .22 caliber revolver (loaded).  Additionally, $2182.00 was confiscated.

Samuel and McClain were both charged with firearms not to be carried without a license; possession with intent to deliver heroine; possession of a controlled substance.
