The York St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee introduced this year’s Grand Marshal at the Central Market House in York Wednesday.

Local attorney Thomas O’Shea will take the role at the 31st annual parade.

It will be held Saturday, March 15.

More than 100 entries including floats, bands and dance groups will take part and plans are well underway.

“We’re going to have Sunrise Soaps doing the Guinness soap, at their location right on Beaver Street,” says Sean Kenny, who’s on the committee. “So if you want to smell like a true Irishman, reeking of Guinness, no, it doesn’t smell that bad, the Guinness soap is great and I use it at home.”

The parade draws about 10,000 people downtown each year.
